UPDATE JANUARY 01, 2022: #TMCollaBRAtory is currently on pause. We will let you know when we are ready to accept applications again!
The #TMCollaBRAtory is a collective of sewists who are interested in sewing lingerie, swimwear, and/or activewear. They are people who love sharing their sewing process and what they've learned with the community. The hashtag will be a resource where others in the lingerie/swimwear/activewear sewing space can frequent for inspiration, lessons learned, mini pattern reviews, construction details and more.
In exchange, you are are allowing Tailor Made Shop to share your photos across the website, product listings, Etsy, email newsletters, Instagram and all other forms of social media (with due credit of course!)
- loves sewing lingerie, swimwear, and/or activewear. (No experience required—anyone with an adventurous spirit and willingness to learn is welcome to apply!)
- loves to share their process and learnings with the community.
- wants to challenge themselves and improve their skills while using high quality materials.
- can commit to being a part of #TMCollaBRAtory for the duration of the year, completing at least 6 projects (up to 12 if you're feeling ambitious!) in order to tackle a variety of projects and materials. Update 2/5/2020 8:30PM EST: A bit of clarification here. You are expected to make only 1 project per month, with the option of taking a break in between projects. Hence if you make a project one month and take a break the next month, you will end up with 6 projects for the year. Or if you are feeling particularly ambitious, you can make one project per month with no breaks in between and end up with 12 projects made for the year. A project is also just one garment. A single underwear or bra or workout leggings.
WHEN WILL APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR #TMCOLLABRATORY 2021-2022?
#TMCollaBRAtory 2020-2021 is expected to conclude on April 30th, 2021. It has been extended by two months due to Tailor Made Shop being closed during New York's lockdown in response to coronavirus. Being that this is the first time we are running this program, we would like to take time to receive feedback from collaborators on how to better improve the program.
